I bought this to add a step system to get up into the slide in truck camper that I have in the bed of my 2007 classic Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
Once folded/not in use the step takes up hardly any room and you cannot see it from outside the truck with the tailgate closed.
Overall it seems to be a very well made product. The instructions were not in English so there was a little bit of guesswork in how exactly to mount it. The specs listed on the website say that the step itself is 18” wide but it’s actually 48” wide which is a good thing. The self tapping screws that came with it were of poor quality and ended up either pulling the threads off the screws or completely breaking the screws before they got tight. The step comes completely assembled, all you have to do is drill holes into your tailgate to mount it.

Installation wasn't bad at all. I'd give it 5 stars if they had supplied stainless sheet metal screws and I didn't have an issue with the locking handle that holds it in place. I don't think it needs a locking handle. Just something similar to keep it in place. Same design just maybe a turn handle built in. The habdle didn't line up very well once installed so a little bending of the metal and it holds the unit in place but won't turn completely to lock it.
FYI the spacers are for the valleys in your tailgate. You want to fill up any space between the step and the tailgate where the screws go in. Use Locktite. Other than that it is a great tailgate step!
